The Adama Project/Project Earth: “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” (Genesis 2:7). Man was the final creation of God. The human body, created by God from dust of the ground, is the same ground under our feet. It also contains the Iron in our blood cells, the calcium in our bones and the water that fills our body. Elements that God created on planet earth, exist also in our human body, only they work in different formulas. Earth was created for the benefit of mankind but ultimately becomes his termination. "All are of the dust, and all turn to dust again" eventually earth, the mother of the human body of all men will embrace him at the end of his life.

Project Earth is a documentation of my journey exploring the cycle from birth in Earth’s womb to when Man finally earns the right to return and reunite with Earth again, merging with it till they become one again. It took me six years to complete Project Earth and every time I returned to the desert to connect with Earth, I realized that as spoiled, sensitive and vulnerable our human body really is, so are the solid rocks. They, too, can crack, crumble, change and disappear.

As I stripped naked and connected with Earth, I felt it come to life as a giant, living, breathing entity. My intimate experience with Earth was that it contained a delicate balance of all things and the infinity of life itself.

As I photographed myself in the solitude of nature and the tremendous power of the desert, I gained a rare and unique experience, and a deeper understanding that all mankind is interconnected, and all are related and interwoven into one body. By listening carefully to Earth I learned that finding the balance between construction and destruction is the key to harmony and more than that the key to life itself.
